The ForestScanner Management Office (hereinafter referred to as the "office") has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the "policy") regarding the handling of privacy information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as the "services").

Article 1 (Privacy Information)
Among the privacy information, “personal information” refers to, as defined in the Personal Information Protection Law, the information about a living individual by which specific individual can be identified from the name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions contained in the information. “History and characteristic information” refers to privacy information other than personal information as defined above. History and characteristic information include information about the services used, the products purchased, the history of pages and advertisements viewed, the search keywords searched, the date and time of use, the method of use, the usage environment, zip code, gender, occupation, age, IP address, cookie information, location information, and the individual device identification information.

Article 2 (Methods of Collecting Privacy Information)
When a user registers, the office may ask him/her for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, or driver's license number. The office may also collect transaction records, including the user’s personal information, and settlement information between the user and his/her business partners, through the office’s business partners (e.g., information providers, advertisers, and advertising distributors; hereinafter referred to as “partners”). The office may collect the following information of the user when the user uses the services provided by the office or its partners, or when the user browses the services’ webpages; the services and software used, the products purchased, the history of pages and advertisements viewed, the search keywords searched, the date and time of use, the method of use, the usage environment (such as the communication status and setting information of the mobile device), IP address, cookie information, location information, and individual device identification information

Article 3 (Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information)
The purposes for which the office collects and uses the personal information are as follows:
(1) For the purpose of displaying the user’s registered information (such as his/her name, address, contact information, and payment method) and information about the services used, the products purchased, and the payments of the products, in order to let the user view and modify the registered information and usage statuses.
(2) For the purpose of sending emails to inform or contact the user, sending products to the user’s address, or contacting the user when necessary.
(3) For the purpose of the office to verify the identity of the user based on information such as the user’s name, the date of birth, address, telephone number, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, and the arrival result of mail with proof of delivery.
(4) For the purpose of the office to use the information such as the name and quantity of products purchased, the type, duration, and frequency of services used, the amount billed, and payment information such as name, address, bank account number, and credit card number, in order to charge the user.
(5) For the purpose of displaying the information registered with the office and transferring the information to other services (including those provided by our partners) based on the user's suggestions, in order to allow the user to input data easily.
(6) For the purpose of the office to identify individuals based on information such as the manner of use, user name, and address, in order to refuse the users who have violated the terms of use of this service (e.g., those who have delayed payment or caused damage to a third party) or the users who are trying to use the service for unfair or improper purposes.
(7) For the purpose of the office to use information necessary to provide services to users, such as the content of inquiries and billing information, as well as the status of the users’ use of the services and contact information, in order to respond to inquiries from users.
(8) Purposes incidental to the above purposes of use.

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The office will not provide personal information to any third party without the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However, this excludes cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Law and other laws and regulations.
(1) When required by law.
(2) When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
(3) When it is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
(4) When the provision of personal information is necessary for cooperating with a national agency, a local government, or a person or organization entrusted by either of the foregoing in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual concerned is likely to impede the execution of such affairs.
(5) When the following matters are notified or announced in advance:
- The purpose of use includes a provision to a third party.
- Items of data to be provided to a third party.
- The means or method of provision to a third party.
- Stopping the provision of personal information to a third party at the request of the individual.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases shall not fall under the category of third parties:
(1) When the office entrusts the handling of personal information, in whole or in part, within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
(2) When personal information is provided in connection with the succession of a business due to a merger or other reasons.
(3) In cases where personal information is to be used jointly with a specific party, and the office notifies the person in advance or makes it easily accessible to the person in question of that fact, the items of personal information to be used jointly, the scope of the party using the information jointly, the purpose of use of the party using the information, and the name of the party responsible for the management of the personal information.

Article 5 (Disclosure of personal information)
When the office receives a request from an individual to disclose his/her personal information, the office will disclose such information to the individual without delay. However, the office may decide not to disclose all or part of the information if disclosure would cause any of the following to occur, and if it decides not to disclose the information, it will notify the person without delay. A fee of 1,000 JPY per case will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.
(1) When there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party.
(2) When the disclosure of personal information is likely to significantly impede the proper execution of the business of the office.
(3) When it would violate other laws and regulations.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in principle, information other than personal information, such as history information and characteristic information, will not be disclosed.

Article 6 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)
Users may request that the office correct or delete their personal information in accordance with procedures established by the office, in cases where the personal information held by the office is incorrect. If the office receives a request from a User in accordance with the preceding paragraph and deems it necessary to respond to such request, the office shall correct or delete the personal information without delay and notify the user of such correction or deletion.

Article 7 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)
In the event that the office is requested by a user to stop using or delete personal information (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use") on the grounds that the personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that the information was obtained by wrongful means, the office will conduct the necessary investigation without delay, suspend of use of the personal information based on the results of the investigation, and notify the individual to that effect. However, in cases where it is difficult to suspend the use of personal information due to high costs or other reasons, and where alternative measures are necessary to protect the rights and interests of the individual can be taken, such alternative measures will be taken.

Article 8 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)
The contents of this policy may be changed without notice to the user. Unless otherwise specified by the office, the revised privacy policy shall become effective when it is posted on this website.
